ABOUT THE POSITION
Matthew Flinders Anglican College is excited to announce a new opportunity for a highly experienced and visionary Director of Football (Soccer) to lead and grow our College Soccer program. We are seeking a dynamic individual to take full ownership of the soccer program, nurturing talent and fostering a strong soccer culture within the College and broader community.
This is a Permanent Part-time (0.4 FTE) position commencing in January 2026, with the potential to increase to full-time (1.0 FTE) for candidates with HPE (Primary and Middle School) teaching qualifications.
As the Director of Football (Soccer), you will provide both strategic leadership and hands-on management of the College’s Soccer program. This includes school and club-based competitions, with a focus on developing pathways from grassroots participation through to elite performance. You will also take on an active coaching role with the College’s flagship teams.
In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of coaches, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance environment. Collaboration will be key, as you work closely with College staff, community coaches, and the parent support group to ensure the ongoing growth and success of the program.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a proven leader with experience in establishing and growing successful soccer programs, ideally within a school or youth environment. You will have a deep understanding of player development pathways, from beginner to elite levels, and a passion for creating opportunities for students to excel. Your leadership skills will be matched by your ability to manage the day-to-day operations of a large soccer program, including scheduling, logistics, and resource management.
You will be an excellent communicator, able to engage with students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders, building positive relationships and fostering collaboration. You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to student wellbeing, integrating the soccer program with the College’s broader initiatives for mental and physical health. A Soccer Coaching Accreditation, along with a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and First Aid qualifications (or ability to obtain), is required. Teaching qualifications are highly desirable but not essential.
