A rare opportunity to become an integral part of developing and growing the new North Sydney Olympic Pool (NSOP). Following a comprehensive redevelopment, NSOP is looking for experienced industry enthusiasts to help create an operational environment that is only matched by its spectacular views and location. Build your department from scratch, creating a culture that is as pleasurable to work in as it is to experience as a customer. Owned and operated by North Sydney Council, our Leisure and Aquatics unit now encompasses both the NSOP and the iconic North Sydney Oval, bringing together two of Sydney’s premier sporting and leisure destinations. While this role is based at NSOP, you will be part of this newly united team, committed to delivering outstanding experiences across our facilities.
The role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Coordinator Aquatic Programs to join our new NSOP team. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting the Manager Leisure and Aquatics to efficiently and effectively set-up and manage the aquatic programs and creche of the upgraded NSOP. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to be part of one of Sydney’s most iconic sites, with the chance to create and build your team from the ground up. As a senior leader you will develop and lead a cohesive and motivated team, providing a professional, quality service to all learn to swim and pool users. The role will also ensure a safe environment for all children engaged in activities operated by NSOP.
The person
The Coordinator Aquatic Programs will lead and manage the NSOP creche, swim school and squad teams, ensuring the facility is utilised in line with Council standards. The role will build and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders, contributing towards the operation of an industry-leading leisure and aquatic centre. This role will suit a person with extensive experience and a passion for the swim school and aquatic industries, demonstrating a can-do attitude and the ability to motivate and lead a team to deliver exceptional customer service. In-depth knowledge or understanding of OCG Child Safe policies and procedures would also be beneficial. The ideal applicant will thrive on new challenges related to building their department and facilities in line with industry regulations, whilst being able to think innovatively to ensure NSOP is an industry leader. A demonstrated ability to be flexible and work with others to achieve best practice outcomes will be highly regarded.
When you join North Sydney Council you become part of a team that is dedicated to providing a wide range of quality services to North Sydney residents and the larger community. Our aim is to ensure the revitalised NSOP meets these same standards and delivers an outstanding complex to its visitors, where the customer experience is regarded as highly as the breath-taking views.
