Description

Purpose

This is an all-encompassing finance position, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, statutory compliance, meeting internal and external reporting deadlines, and a key interface between finance and the business through providing timely and accurate financial information to key decision makers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Payroll
    • Responsible for the end-to-end payroll processes.
    • Responsible for statutory compliance.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Key interface between finance and the business.
    • Assist the CFO in the formulation of medium and long-term financial and strategic plans and support the strategic initiatives of the organisation.
  • Reporting
    • Prepare the monthly and annual financial reporting for the Executive Team and Department Heads for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation and streamlining operations.
    • Assist the CFO in preparing reports and presentations to Rugby Australia, Board of Directors, relevant Board committees and Executive Management Team.
    • Timely and accurate preparation and lodgment of monthly and annual reports/returns to external bodies – e.g. FBT, BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, Workers Compensation, Statutory Accounts and Other Statutory reporting (including complex reconciliations).
  • General
    • Processing and maintaining financial data across multiple cost codes.
    • Processing and payment of supplier invoices in line with approval processes.
    • Review accuracy of coding and authorisation of invoices and expense claims.
    • Bank and credit card management including reconciliations.
    • Overall debtors and creditors management including reconciliations.
    • Responsible for the month end process including processing of monthly journals and general ledger reconciliations.
    • Monitor and plan cash flow requirements.
    • Ensure adherence to legislation and accounting standards.
    • Liaise with auditors during planning and execution of the annual audit.
    • Review existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvement.
    • Ad hoc office administration and other duties as required.

Capabilities, Experience & Qualification Requirements

  • Have an Australian tertiary qualification in Finance/Accounting with at least three years relevant experience in performing the above duties.
  • Be proficient in XERO and Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and multitask.
  • Permanent Resident of Australia.
