Description

Golf NSW is the governing body for golf in New South Wales, dedicated to promoting and supporting the game of golf at all levels. Golf NSW is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team at our Head Office in Brighton Le Sands. This position is a full-time, in-office role. 

This position requires an individual with a strong background in accounting to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. The Accountant will report to the General Manager, Finance, and work closely with the Finance Officer to manage the financial operations for Golf NSW, NSW Golf Foundation and the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation. 

Accountant - Key Responsibilities

Financial Transactions Management

  • Oversee daily financial transactions across all bank and Stripe accounts.
  • Ensure accurate recording, classification of all financial transactions.

Accounts Receivable

  • Manage the full accounts receivable process, including invoicing and monthly follow-up on outstanding invoices.

Payroll Processing

  • Process weekly and monthly payrolls for both Golf NSW and JNJG in a timely and accurate manner.

Statutory Compliance

  • Prepare and lodge all legal and statutory obligations, including BAS, payroll tax, and superannuation.
  • Prepare and submit the annual Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) return.

Reconciliations & Reporting

  • Conduct monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts and key balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including budgets and forecasts.

Affiliation Fee Management

  • Lead the annual collection and processing of affiliation fees from affiliated Golf Clubs on behalf of Golf NSW.

Audit Support

  • Assist with the preparation of documentation and respond to auditor requests as needed.

Policy & Compliance

  • Maintain and update financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.

Ad Hoc Duties

  • Perform other duties and ad hoc financial tasks as required to support the Finance team and wider organisation.

Please note this position is an "in-office" position and not a hybrid role. 

Essential Requirements

  • National Police / Criminal History Check
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Xero accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills
