The Host Plus Cup Head Coach is responsible for leading the development and delivery of elite coaching program for our Host Plus Cup team. This includes tactical planning, player development, and fostering a culture of excellence that drives on-field success.

Specific Duties: 

Leadership & Culture 

• Collaborate with the CEO and Head of Football to establish and uphold a positive, values-driven team culture. 
• Lead by example to foster a supportive, high-performance environment. 
• Support the recruitment process, balancing culture fit, skill capability, and salary cap considerations. 
• Build and maintain strong relationships with players, coaching staff, medical and wellbeing team, and the broader football community. 
• Engage with club partners, sponsors, and media to promote the club’s values and initiatives.

Coaching & Game Strategy 

• Develop, communicate, and implement a comprehensive coaching strategy and game plan aligned with club objectives. 
• Execute game tactics that reflect the coaching philosophy and style of play. 
• Design training programs and session plans for optimal player development. 
• Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback to players and coaching staff. 
• Prepare players for various game scenarios through tailored skills, tactics, and strategic approaches. 
• Oversee team selection, game day operations, post-match reviews, and ongoing player development.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement 

• Work with the CEO to ensure clarity around QRL rules, standards, and club policies.
• Liaise with the NRL Affiliate (Gold Coast Titans) around player availability and team selections.
• Communicate effectively with players, coaching staff, and stakeholders through one-on-one and group interactions. 
• Lead training sessions and presentations with professionalism and clarity. 
• Represent the club in the media, promotional events, and community engagements as required.
