The Sunshine Coast Turf Club (SCTC) is a premier racing, events and entertainment venue located in the heart of the Sunshine Coast. With a proud history and an ambitious future, SCTC hosts approximately 60 race meetings annually and continues to grow its reputation as a dynamic destination for raceday excitement, corporate functions, premium dining, and major community events.

We are now seeking a visionary Head of Marketing & Customer Experience to lead our brand, marketing, membership, digital, and hospitality sales efforts - and help us create unforgettable experiences for our members and guests.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Shaping and executing SCTC’s marketing and brand strategy across all channels.
  • Enhancing the full customer journey from first interaction through to raceday experience and post-event engagement.
  • Driving growth in raceday and non-raceday revenue through targeted campaigns and compelling event offerings.
  • Leading digital transformation and CRM strategies, ensuring personalisation and performance-led marketing.
  • Overseeing event sales and hospitality products, including premium packages and corporate experiences.
  • Inspiring and developing a skilled team in marketing, digital, membership, and events coordination.

You’ll also play a vital role in strengthening partnerships, community connections, and the club’s reputation within the racing and entertainment industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the club’s annual marketing strategy aligned with commercial goals.
  • Oversee brand positioning, creative content, advertising, PR, and digital presence.
  • Manage SCTC’s digital ecosystem, including website, social, EDMs, and ticketing platforms.
  • Grow membership acquisition, retention, and satisfaction through campaigns and service enhancements.
  • Lead event sales strategy across both raceday and non-raceday hospitality experiences.
  • Support sponsorship activations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Elevate customer experience standards, collaborating with operations and hospitality teams.
  • Build a positive, accountable, and innovative team culture.

About You

You’re an experienced marketing leader with strong commercial instincts and a passion for delivering memorable customer experiences. You love working in fast-paced, vibrant environments and have an appreciation for live events, sport or hospitality.

You bring:

  • 5-7+ years in a senior marketing or customer experience role, ideally in sport, entertainment, tourism or hospitality.
  • A proven record in brand building, digital marketing, and campaign performance.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams and collaborating across departments.
  • A customer first mindset, with the ability to map, analyse and improve the customer journey.
  • Experience in event planning and premium product development.
  • High level stakeholder engagement, communication and reporting skills.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • Drivers Licence
  • 5-7+ years in a senior marketing or customer experience role, ideally in sport, entertainment, tourism or hospitality
