PCYC NSW is seeking a dynamic and hands-on State Sports Manager to drive the success of our state-wide sports competitions and participation programs. You’ll provide the vision, structure, and leadership that enables clubs across NSW to deliver exceptional sporting experiences—empowering young people and strengthening communities in the process.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the State Business Development Manager, the State Sports Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery and growth of PCYC’s club-level sports activities, including competitions and skills-based “learn to play” programs. You’ll work closely with Clubs to improve operations, maximise participation, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and inclusion. You will:
- Lead and support the implementation of consistent, high-quality sports activities across PCYC Clubs.
- Drive participation growth, member retention, and financial performance across the sports portfolio.
- Support Club Managers in program planning, resource allocation, and performance evaluation.
- Develop tools, templates, and best practice guides to streamline club-based program delivery.
- Identify and act on revenue opportunities, local marketing needs, and operational efficiencies.
- Build relationships with State Sporting Organisations, suppliers, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Provide regular reporting to the executive team on participation trends and program performance.
- Work closely with internal teams to recruit, support, and upskill staff involved in sports delivery.
- Contribute to child safety, workplace safety, and organisational compliance.

Established in 1937, PCYC NSW is a life changing charity collaborating in partnership with communities and NSW Police to empower youth, get kids active in life and reduce and prevent youth crime. We have sixty-six clubs and eighteen OOSH services across NSW, with a vision for significant growth.
Our aim is to engage with and positively influence over 70,000 youth members through mainstream sport, recreation, education, leadership, and cultural programs. We also work with at-risk youth to break the cycle of disadvantage through crime prevention, vocational education, youth capacity building and social responsibility programs to enhance the life direction and outcomes of over 7,500 youth per year
