The QAS support more than 530 athletes - from emerging juniors to Olympic, Paralympic, and World Championship medallists - through in-house squads, partnerships, and scholarship programs. Key duties and accountabilities
The duties of this role include, but is not limited to:
- Lead the development, review and implementation of the Sport Integrity Standards at the QAS.
- Review and/or develop other policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices that inter-relate with the Sport Integrity Standards, ensuring alignment with Queensland Government policy.
- Develop, implement and review an education plan to equip staff, athletes and coaches with an understanding of sport integrity.
- Work closely with and provide strategic advice to the QAS Senior Executive in relation to dealing with requests or complaints from National Sporting Organisations (NSO) Integrity and/or Complaints Managers who assist with the handling of issues that relate to NSO rules, regulations, codes, and policies.
- Working with the QAS Senior Executive to ensure Sport Integrity concerns raised with the QAS are actioned in an effective, consistent and timely process, aligned to relevant QAS policies and procedures, in an agreed complaint management system.
- Communicate emerging issues, trends and opportunities, from both within the QAS and the broader industry, to inform future strategy.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships across the QAS including the CEO, Senior Executives and Board.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Australian High-Performance system (including State Institutes, AIS, international and professional elite sport networks) to share knowledge and leverage opportunities.
- Provide a safe, and safe environment for QAS supported athletes and any other children and young people engaged with the QAS, free from physical, sexual and emotional abuse or neglect.
The key accountabilities of the Sport Integrity Manager includes, but is not limited to:
- Compliance with the obligations set out in the Secondment Agreement.
- Compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Cooperate with the employer and comply with all relevant legislation.
- Work and act safely and take all reasonable care to protect personal health and safety and the health and safety of others.
