About the team – The Platform Services team develops, tests, validates and then implements the ASC’s Technology Platforms, Products and/or services and works across the Group to develop, test, release and deployment specific Program or Pipeline outcomes to operations.

The team works across the Technology Groups ITSM service lifecycle and is involved in the establishment of virtual (or project) teams to deliver agreed and designed technical plans and to provide guidance and subject matter expertise to and for the Platforms and Products developed and deployed into Production that enable effective sustainment across the organisation.

If you are the successful candidate, you will work in a small delivery team using agile ways of working and a double diamond approach and will work collaboratively across several product teams developing services and experiences for both ASC and sport.

About the role – The Test Manager role will lead the Testing and Service Validations capabilities of developed technical platforms across Technology Groups ICT environments, with the primary objective of ensuring rigorous testing plans and schedules meet the required design and build requirements in readiness for Transition to Operations and that designed and developed Products consistently meet and deliver reliable, secure, and efficient services for the ASC.

We are looking for a process-driven Test Manager to be responsible for designing, managing and running tests on Product and Platform usability to support the delivery of the ASC’s sector and corporate IVCT environments.

As a Test Manager you'll be involved in the quality assurance stage of the ITSM service lifecycle, including, but not limited to software development and deployment, including designing test plans and conducting automated and manual tests to ensure the solutions created by developers are fit for purpose and any bugs or issues are removed within a product before it gets deployed to staff and/or stakeholders.

The successful candidate should have a working knowledge of various products and platforms and experience in test design including the capability to plan, oversee, run and report through test management lifecycles.

Ideally, you will have the ability to develop test plans and analyse test results with experience working in an agile environment.

You will be expected to be result-driven, have good communication skills, and up-to-date knowledge of product and platform programming and test design. Key duties and responsibilities for this role include:

  • Lead the Testing and Service Validation Team to meet Technology Group ITSM requirements.
  • Collaborate with the development and project teams to understand testing and validation requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Manage and oversee testing and service validation of products and applications to identify, documents, report and track testing activities including test results, test progress and test reporting (defects and issues).
  • Quality assure and/or perform manual testing as well as contribute to the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts.
  • Collaborate with virtual and cross-functional teams to ensure the quality of testing throughout the development life cycle.

About you – You will be an experienced and motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and experience managing a team of Testers with a human-centered mindset within an agile environment who will drive the Product and Service testing best practices in the delivery of ASC technical platforms. The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Test Manager or Senior Tester
  • Solid understanding of software, infrastructure, systems or application testing principles, methodologies and practices.
  • Experience and skills in both manual and automated testing tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality Testing and Validation outcomes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-pasted agile dynamic development environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field – essential or highly desirable but not mandatory.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for this position applicants are required to be Australian citizens only and must be able to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance.
