About the team – The Architecture & Design Services Teams design and support ASC’s Technology Architecture and works across Technology Group to assess business and technical plans and provide guidance to ensure solution architectures, patterns and procedures for development pipelines enable effective sustainment across the organisation though effective communication and alignment which are essential for a well-functioning IT ecosystem that enables effective sustainment across the organisation.

About the role – The Business Architect (ASC 6) is responsible, under broad direction, to provide architectural leadership and guidance for complex work that delivers high-quality professional domain architecture (including design elements) across a range of Technology Group services.

You will provide technical consultation, leadership and advocacy to business partners and IT management to ensure development of efficient applications, systems and innovative solutions that include, but are not limited to, SharePoint,
CRM, integration, and analytics environments, utilising established standards, procedures and methodologies that support the efficient and effective delivery of the ASC objectives.

While working on high-level project planning, design, and decision elements, you will also ensure architecture standards, and processes, comply with and adhere to ASC and Technology Group business and ICT strategies.

You will work closely with the Director, Architecture and Design Services and provide assistance in managing and leading the Architecture and Design Services functional tower and the team of professionals who design, develop and sustain enterprise and domain architecture standards that are sustainable, efficient, secure and integrated and you will support the coordination of agreed team deliverables and guidance, advice & mentoring to team members. Key duties include:

  • Produce architectural and design documentation, understand, and contribute to enterprise patterns and apply industry recommended approaches, frameworks, principles, patterns, and technologies.
  • Provide strong leadership, mentorship and coaching to other members of the ASC’s architecture community of practice.
  • Actively collaborate, resolve concerns and disputes, and negotiate beneficial outcomes with a diverse set of stakeholders with varying levels of technical and data proficiency to deliver tangible value to the ASC.
  • Architect and develop cloud-native applications leveraging platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Design and implement seamless integrations between Dynamics 365 and other systems and cloud services.
  • Drive innovation and promote a culture of continuous improvement, work collaboratively and willingly share information and work with peers to streamline processes and create efficiencies.

About you – Our ideal candidate will be an experienced and motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering architecturally designed, developed, and delivered solutions with a human-centered mindset. The successful candidate will have experience in a range of capabilities, including:

  • Collaboration with Front Door, Demand & Relationship leads, BI and Project solution architects to define the domain architecture and implementation.
  • Collaboratively working, guiding, and governing Architecture Reviews with Project team members in the implementation of the designed architecture.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for Domain Architecture and Design, including current posture, as built, compliance, controls and monitoring, and maintenance information.
  • Recommending and implementing Domain Architect improvements as needed.
  • Proficiency in several Technology Stacks, Architecture patterns, and development methodologies.
  • Assessing existing systems, identify inefficiencies, and propose architectural improvements.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive architectural documentation to communicate design decisions and guidelines.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field or related experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of solution development and customisation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible for this position applicants are required to be Australian citizens only and must be able to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance.
