Australian Taekwondo invites interested individuals to nominate to join the Australian Taekwondo Board as an Appointed Director with legal qualifications or a legal background.
Australian Taekwondo is in an exciting growth stage, and the Appointed Director position is critical in providing independent and thoughtful contributions to Board operations.
The Board is strongly committed to best practice governance principles and ensuring Director diversity on the Board. Cognisant of the current Australian Taekwondo Board Skills Matrix, the Board is seeking a Board Director with specific capabilities and expertise in finance and accounting. These attributes are in addition to the general attributes for a Board Director outlined in the Australian Sports Commission’s Board Director Success Profile. The Board encourages interest from women in the advertised role.
The Australian Taekwondo Board is responsible for the strategic leadership, direction, and development of the sport and martial arts in Australia. The Board is responsible for governing, overseeing the affairs of, and making strategic decisions for Australian Taekwondo in collaboration with Member Organisations.
This includes:
Setting strategic direction, goals, resourcing, and policies for Australian Taekwondo
Oversighting performance of the organisation
Oversighting risk management and conformance with statutory requirements
Complete the nomination form, especially addressing the Key Selection Criteria.
Provide a cover letter and resume.
