About the Role
The Membership and Participation Coordinator is a key part of our hockey operations team, driving programs to boost participation, support local clubs, and create welcoming hockey experiences for all.
Working under the General Manager - Hockey Operations, you'll bring our participation strategy to life by building relationships with schools, supporting local associations, overseeing registration systems, and helping hockey reach new communities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering introductory programs like Hookin2Hockey and school-based initiatives across QLD.
- Working with clubs and associations to embed participation programs into their local plans.
- Expanding inclusive programs including Walking Hockey and daytime Masters.
- Building relationships with schools to drive participation and transition players into club hockey.
- Supporting clubs with their marketing, registration, and inclusion efforts.
- Providing training, toolkits, and resources to help local volunteers and coaches succeed.
- Supporting participants, members, and staff with hockey systems like Revolutionise Sport.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has hands-on experience running sport participation programs.
- Understands grassroots club environments and thrives working with community stakeholders.
- Has coaching experience and a love for hockey.
- Is well-organised, a clear communicator, and proactive in their approach.
- Can work independently while also being a great team player.
- Has, or is eligible to hold, a Blue Card and meet child safety obligations.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience with sport registration data bases especially Revolutionise Sport
- Experience working in schools or with the Sporting Schools Program.
- A track record of developing inclusive programs and working with under-represented groups.
- Experience with registration platforms like Revolutionise Sport.
- Familiarity with Hockey Queensland’s club and association structures.
