Background
Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) is the national governing body for the sport of tenpin bowling, providing opportunities for participation from grassroots to elite levels.
The 2025–2026 Strategic Plan outlines TBA’s direction and priorities for the sport across Australia.
To support our strategic goals, we are committed to maintaining a balanced, skilled, and diverse Board that reflects the broader tenpin bowling community.
About the Nominations Committee
The Nominations Committee is a formal sub-committee of the TBA Board. Its purpose is to support strong governance practices by identifying and assessing candidates for Director vacancies and managing key aspects of the election and recruitment process (see full Terms of Reference for details).
The role of the Chair
The Independent Chair provides leadership and oversight of the Nominations Committee.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the committee operates effectively, including the management of meetings and the flow of information to the Board.
- Overseeing systems that track Board composition (skills, experience, diversity, attributes) and the end-to-end nominations process, from candidate identification to appointment and stakeholder communication.
To be considered independent, the Chair must be free, in the opinion of the Board, of any interest, position, association or relationship that might influence, or reasonably be perceived to influence, in a material respect their capacity to bring an independent judgment to bear on issues before the Nominations Committee.
