Wanderers Football Club is seeking committed and skilled individuals to join our club committee. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a community club that fields teams from Auskick through to senior men’s and women’s semi-professional programs, with a proud track record since 1917 of fostering inclusion, participation, and football excellence.
About the Role
As a club committee member, you’ll be part of a governance team responsible for the strategic leadership, oversight, and sustainability of the club. Committee members play a key role in ensuring the club thrives both on and off the field - supporting football operations, community engagement, cultural development, and sound financial management.
Key areas of contribution include:
- Governance, compliance, and policy oversight
- Strategic and financial planning
- Football program and pathway development
- Volunteer and community engagement
- Promotion of a positive and inclusive club culture
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals who can bring experience, energy, and insight to our Committee. Ideal candidates will have one or more of the following:
- Governance and risk management experience
- Financial literacy or accounting background
- Human resource, legal or compliance expertise
- Communication, sponsorship or fundraising experience
- A background in community sport or high-performance football
- Cultural competence and an understanding of community diversity
Desirable (but not required):
- Familiarity with the NTFL competition and local football pathways
- Understanding of Darwin’s community dynamics and sporting landscape
- Experience in working with regional or remote communities
- Awareness of seasonal and logistical challenges unique to the Top End

Time Commitment & Requirements
- Monthly committee meetings (in-person or online)
- Participation in online discussions and decision-making
- Attendance at key matches, events, or working groups
- Committee members must hold a valid Ochre Card and complete relevant training
This is a voluntary position; however, reasonable expenses may be reimbursed.
