Description

The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is on a bold journey towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond. Following the extraordinary success of Queensland athletes at the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are now focused on delivering even more medal-winning moments through to Los Angeles 2028 and our home Games in 2032.

Our ambitious high-performance strategy for the 2032 Games is to create more medal-winning moments for Queensland athletes that inspire their state and nation. While our strategy guides our performance, our culture truly delivers it. Given our vision, our culture is vitally important to us.

We are seeking talented, motivated individuals whose values and behaviours align with our team and culture. If you are passionate about high performance, committed to continuous improvement, and want to be part of something transformational, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey.

Reporting to the Senior High Performance Manager, we're seeking a High Performance Manager.

The roles and responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate strong, deliberate and productive relationships with athletes, coaches and performance support teams to support and enable them to develop robust and effective athlete plans that are aligned to the NSO ‘What It Takes To Win’ (WITTW) frameworks to increase the likelihood of medal outcomes.
  • Create a collaborative environment and facilitate open, consistent, and honest communication between NSOs, SSOs and wider QAS and system partners in relation to progress and achievement of stated objectives.
  • Provide leadership and management to QAS Performance Support teams, including facilitating performance team meetings, ensuring strategic resource investment, and promoting effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Support coach development, contributing to coach performance reviews, development plans, and professional growth within the high-performance network.
  • Drive athlete performance monitoring and problem-solving, partnering with coaches to evaluate progress, address challenges, and refine training plans using performance insights.
  • Effectively collaborate with the QAS data team to ensure quality data insights are used to inform evidence-based decision making.
  • Lead operational planning and reviews, including managing budgets, coordinating camps and competitions, conducting annual sport reviews, and staying current with athlete performance trends at all levels.

The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our athletes.

We are committed to an environment where athletes from any background are heard, treated fairly and free from abuse.
