The Role
Are you an experienced fitness professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for creating exceptional member experiences? We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused Fitness Services Team Leader to join our team on a fixed-term maternity leave cover until 2 January 2026.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the daily operations of our Health Club, Group Fitness, and Exercise Physiology services. You’ll work closely with a motivated team, support program delivery, and ensure our high standards of service and safety are consistently met. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to step into a leadership role in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
You will:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of fitness services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs and excellent member engagement.
- Manage staff rosters, shift coverage, and compliance, ensuring qualifications and training remain up to date.
- Coordinate administration tasks such as bookings, invoicing, appointment scheduling, and EP session management.
- Act as the first point of contact for customer and staff feedback, resolving issues professionally and escalating when required.
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure efficient use of fitness spaces and staff resources.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and induction of fitness services staff.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture that reflects the values of MUSAC.
- Deliver a minimum of 6 hours per week of direct service on the gym floor.
- Report regularly on team and program performance to the Fitness Services & Community Programs Manager.
Skills, Experience and Specific Requirements
- Certificate IV in Fitness or relevant tertiary qualification.
- Exercise Professional Registration.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a diverse fitness team.
- Proven ability to manage staff rosters and resources effectively.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and Working with Children Check (please include in resume).
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
***This role requires a Working with Children Check, current First Aid & CPR.
