The Opportunity

The Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre (MAC) is seeking an appropriately qualified and suitably experienced Lifeguard & Aquatic Events Team Leader to provide day-to-day management of aquatics supervision and events including implementation of agreed policies, procedures, services and employee supervision. In this role, you will also be responsible for motivating and leading the Pool Lifeguard and Aquatic Events Teams to develop a strong culture of customer service excellence and successful business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate Pool Life Guards and Aquatic Events Teams to ensure that supervision and program delivery is conducted in an effective, efficient and responsive manner, with the target being to offer positive experiences to MAC users
• Develop and implement events and activities to encourage increased usage of the aquatic areas including: holiday activities, birthday parties, water safety education, lap groups and other fun day activities
• Provide supervision and direction to employees within the Pool Life Guard and Aquatic Event teams
• Implement appropriate training and skills development for employees including introductory, ongoing and refresher training
• Working with the Aquatics and Programs Coordinator, recruit, induct and train sufficient employees to meet service level requirements
• Develop and implement rosters to meet service level requirements.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
• Demonstrated experience working in a similar position at a large Aquatic Facility
• Relevant experience leading and motivating large staff teams
• Demonstrated experience implementing events and programs in a community aquatic environment
• Demonstrated experience using a range of technology platforms
• Senior First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
• Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID009)
• Current Working with Children Check - Employment version
• No relevant criminal record found in a Police Check.
