At MLC School, sport is about much more than competition. It is an opportunity for girls to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and a lifelong love of physical activity. We are seeking an energetic, organised and passionate Sports Coordinator to help deliver an exceptional sporting experience for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.

As a key member of our Sport Department, you will work closely with the Director of Sport and Assistant Director of Sport to coordinate a dynamic and diverse program that encourages students to strive for personal excellence while fostering a strong sense of belonging and school spirit.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position that combines sports administration, event coordination, stakeholder engagement and program delivery. No two days are the same as you support students, coaches, parents and sporting bodies to ensure the smooth operation of one of the school's most vibrant co-curricular programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the day-to-day operations of the School's Pre-K to Year 12 sports program.
  • Organising sporting competitions, trials, fixtures and carnivals.
  • Supporting and developing coaches and student sporting pathways.
  • Managing sporting budgets, resources and administrative processes.
  • Monitoring student participation, attendance and sporting records.
  • Building strong relationships with students, families, coaches and sporting associations.
  • Assisting with the recruitment, engagement and retention of coaching staff.
  • Promoting sport through information evenings, orientation events and holiday clinics.

About You

You are a passionate sport professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives on creating positive experiences for young people.

You will bring:

  • Experience in sports administration, ideally within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of school sport and pathways, including IGSA.
  • A proactive, collaborative and solution-focused approach.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting girls' education and wellbeing.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in PDHPE, Sports Administration or a related discipline.
  • Qualifications in Sports Coaching or similar.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in an educational or sporting environment.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance.
  • Senior First Aid and CPR certification.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) and requires flexibility to support the school sporting calendar.

The role operates across Monday to Saturday, with regular attendance at sporting fixtures, carnivals, competitions and events. During school terms, Saturday work is a regular requirement and forms an important part of supporting student participation and representing MLC School within IGSA and other sporting competitions. Weekend work is balanced through a flexible roster arrangement with the Director of Sport.
