IFP Performance & Rehab, a subsidiary of Infinite Fitness Peninsula, is seeking expressions of interest from coaches to join our 2026/2027 IFP High Performance Australian Rules Football Program.
This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or an early career coach to gain practical experience delivering a high performance program within local and sub elite Australian rules football. It would also suit someone with a passion for athlete development and working within a high performance culture.
MENTORING AND DEVELOPMENT
You will receive mentoring from Mike “Wiz” Cardiff, Head of High Performance, along with a structured program to deliver and the equipment needed to run your sessions.
Alongside developing your coaching skills, you will learn about the communication and stakeholder management required to bring players, coaches and club leaders together as a cohesive, high performing team.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in one or two VALD testing sessions with your allocated team at IFP during the pre season. These generally take place on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings. Your attendance can be negotiated once testing dates and times are confirmed with the teams.
THE ROLE
You will lead the team’s warm up, conditioning, speed and agility work using the supplied program.
You will attend training at your allocated affiliate club once or twice per week, depending on the individual club contract.
Sessions are generally held on Monday or Wednesday evenings, or both evenings where the club is contracted for two sessions per week. Training generally runs from 6:00 pm to 7:45 pm, with coaches required to attend from 5:30 pm.
The coaching periods are:
- Mid November 2026 through to Christmas.
- Mid January 2027 through to April 2027.
Our program covers clubs across the Mornington Peninsula and south east Melbourne. Your training location will depend on the affiliate club you are allocated. You will need to arrange your own transport to and from training.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PAYMENT
Applicants should hold a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science or relevant strength and conditioning qualifications.
You will be paid an hourly rate in line with the applicable Fitness Award classification, with a minimum payment of three hours for each training or VALD testing session to cover your attendance and travel costs.
