The Venue Supervisor is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring the safe, clean and efficient operation of SBA venues during competitions and programs. The position is the key point of contact for members, players, coaches, referees and spectators on game days, providing support, managing issues and ensuring SBA standards are consistently maintained.
Working closely with the Domestic Competition Officer, the Venue Supervisor will oversee venue opening and closing, court and facility presentation, game-day equipment and scoring management, first aid, incident reporting and member enquiries. The role also requires the ability to confidently manage disputes, complaints and behavioural issues in a professional, fair and appropriate manner.
This position would suit a reliable, proactive and physically capable individual who enjoys working in a busy sporting environment, can remain calm under pressure and is confident dealing with a wide range of people. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and conflict-resolution skills, sound judgement, initiative and a commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming and positive environment for the entire SBA community.
The Venue Supervisor plays an important role in supporting the successful delivery of SBA competitions and programs and ensuring every participant, spectator and official has a positive experience at our venues.
This active, hands-on role is not desk-based and requires someone who is physically fit and able to perform the duties listed below:
- Open/Close the venue, complete an inspection, ensure it is set up and is safe and clean to use.
- Be the first point of contact for member enquiries during the competitions and programs.
- Administer First Aid as required.
- Collection and Management of Game Day tablets and scoresheets, as required.
- Complete any official reporting including injury, behaviour and venue maintenance requests.
- Ensure stadium/courts are kept clean at all times & OHS guidelines are adhered to.
- Manage any disputes/complaints as they arise in the appropriate manner.
- Ensure acceptable behaviour amongst participants & spectators.
- Provide support to members, spectators and referees as needed.
- Any other tasks as required by the Domestic Competitions Officer.
