Description

Adelaide University Sport and Fitness (AUSF) is looking for a motivated and energetic Rugby Coach to lead the performance program of the Adelaide University Women's Rugby program.

The Women's Coach is responsible for planning and delivering the coaching program for the Adelaide University Rugby Women's program.

The role will provide players with quality coaching, support their development and contribute to a positive, inclusive and enjoyable rugby environment. The Women's Coach will work collaboratively with the Head Coach, Club Operations Manager, team manager and other relevant club personnel to support the development and performance of the Women's program.

The role is focused specifically on the Women's team and does not carry responsibility for broader club coaching leadership or the management of other playing groups.

The scope of this position is limited to the coaching and development of the Adelaide University Rugby Women's team and does not include responsibility for broader club coaching leadership, management of other grades or club-wide performance programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS AND DUTIES

The Women's Coach will:

  • Plan and deliver appropriate training sessions for the Women's team throughout the season.
  • Prepare the team for competition through appropriate training, match preparation and game planning.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to players to support individual and team development.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and respectful team environment.
  • Establish clear expectations regarding player attendance, preparation, effort, behaviour and conduct.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head Coach to ensure alignment with the broader AU Rugby playing philosophy and standards.
  • Communicate regularly with the team manager and relevant club personnel regarding training, fixtures, player availability and team requirements.
  • Support player welfare, injury prevention and safe training practices.
  • Attend matches and fulfil match-day coaching responsibilities as required.
  • Contribute to the retention and development of players within the Women's program.
  • Support the identification of opportunities for players to progress into representative, pathway or university rugby programs where appropriate.
  • Represent Adelaide University Rugby and AUSF professionally at all times.

This a volunteer position with an honorarium payment available of $2,000 per season.
