The Newcastle Falcons are seeking applications for the position of Head Coach - NBL1 Men’s Program.

As a participant in NBL1 East and the Senior Waratah Leagues, the Newcastle Falcons are seeking an experienced and highly motivated coach to lead the NBL1 Men's Team and oversee the broader Senior Men's Program. The successful applicant will play a key leadership role in the recruitment, development and performance of the program and its athletes. Responsibilities will also extend beyond the NBL1 squad to ensure a clear, consistent and cohesive pathway for emerging athletes.

Key Responsibilities

The Head Coach will be responsible for:

• Leading and overseeing the NBL1 Men’s Team and broader Senior Men’s Program.
• Recruiting and developing players for the NBL1 squad.
• Establishing and maintaining a clear development pathway for the U18 and Waratah Youth League Falcons programs.
• Working collaboratively with coaches across the Senior Men’s Program to ensure consistency in player development, coaching philosophy and program standards.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with players, coaches, recruitment agencies, relevant stakeholders and our broader Basketball community
• Working collaboratively with the Newcastle Falcons Association administration and supporting the broader objectives of the Association.

Essential Criteria

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:

• A proven history of high-level basketball coaching, preferably within a senior or representative environment.
• Strong knowledge of player recruitment and established connections with individuals, clubs, organisations and/or agencies that can assist with the identification and recruitment of talent.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a basketball association or similar sporting organisation.
• Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with athletes, coaches, administrators and stakeholders.
• The ability to work within an established program budget and demonstrate sound financial management.
• A willingness and ability to adhere to agreed contractual and financial obligations, including those relating to sponsors, athletes and the Association.
• A commitment to representing the Newcastle Falcons professionally and supporting the values and objectives of the Association.

The successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively with the Association’s administration to ensure the NBL1 Men’s Program operates effectively, sustainably and in alignment with the broader strategic objectives of the Newcastle Falcons.
