Help grow volleyball across the Northern Territory

Volleyball Northern Territory (VNT) is seeking an energetic and community-focused Volleyball Participation Officer to help create more opportunities for Territorians of all ages and abilities to experience and enjoy volleyball.

This hands-on role will plan, coordinate and deliver participation programs across schools, clubs and communities, including regional and remote areas. You will build strong community connections, deliver positive and inclusive volleyball experiences, and help participants progress into clubs, competitions and other participation pathways.

About the role

Reporting operationally to the Sport Development Officer, the Volleyball Participation Officer will:

• Deliver engaging volleyball programs in schools, clubs and communities throughout the Northern Territory.
• Coordinate Sporting Schools programs, Come and Try Days, school gala days, inter-school competitions and community events.
• Build positive relationships with schools, teachers, clubs, councils, community organisations, volunteers and other stakeholders.
• Promote opportunities for participants to progress into clubs, competitions and ongoing volleyball programs.
• Support participation growth and sustainable volleyball opportunities in regional and remote communities.
• Assist clubs and associations to attract, engage and retain participants.
• Support the recruitment and development of volunteers, coaches and officials.
• Coordinate program equipment, resources and logistics.
• Maintain accurate participation records and assist with program evaluation, reporting and funding acquittals.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants.

The role is based at the Volleyball NT office at Marrara Sporting Complex and will involve travel to locations including Alice Springs, Katherine and Gove. Some evening and weekend work will also be required.

About you

You will bring energy, enthusiasm and a genuine passion for growing volleyball participation. You will be confident delivering programs, building relationships and working independently across a variety of community settings.

To be successful, you will have:

• Experience in volleyball coaching, officiating, program delivery or participation development.
• Experience delivering sport, recreation, participation or community engagement programs.
• The ability to teach and demonstrate fundamental volleyball skills.
• Experience working with children, young people or community groups.
• An understanding of child safety and inclusive participation practices.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Sound organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to maintain accurate records and program documentation.
• A current driver licence.
• A current First Aid Certificate and Ochre Card/Working with Children Clearance, or the ability to obtain them.
• The ability and willingness to travel throughout the Northern Territory and work flexible hours when required.

Volleyball Australia coaching or officiating accreditation, experience delivering Sporting Schools programs, and experience working with schools, volunteers, sporting clubs or regional and remote communities will be highly regarded.
