The position provides operational leadership across the Association's two largest participation and performance portfolios, ensuring competitions are professionally delivered while overseeing the successful administration of the NBL1, QSL and QSL Youth League programs.
Working collaboratively with the Operations Manager, Management Committee, Basketball Queensland, NBL1 North, affiliated clubs, coaches, athletes, volunteers, officials, sponsors and key stakeholders, the Competitions & High-Performance Manager plays a critical role in enhancing the participant experience, supporting athlete pathways and delivering sustainable competition and representative programs.
The role requires excellent organisational skills, strong stakeholder management, sound financial administration and the ability to manage multiple projects across varying competition cycles throughout the year.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Competition Management - Lead the planning, administration and delivery of all Basketball Ipswich domestic competitions.
- Senior Representative Program Management - Manage the operational delivery of Basketball Ipswich's senior representative pathway.
- Home Game & Event Operations

Essential Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience coordinating sporting competitions, leagues or events.
- Strong management and organisational skills.

- Experience preparing budgets and monitoring expenditure.

- Current Blue Card.
- Current First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Working Conditions
Basketball Ipswich operates seven days per week, with competitions, representative programs and events regularly occurring outside standard business hours.
The Competitions & High-Performance Manager is expected to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, particularly during domestic competition periods, representative seasons, finals campaigns and major events. Flexible work arrangements will be provided in accordance with Ipswich Basketballs employment policies.
