Position Overview
The Consumer Business Sales Coordinator is the driving force behind Sydney FC’s consumer base growth. Reporting directly to the Consumer Business Manager, this is a high-energy, results-driven role focused on identifying new fans, building revenue, and converting casual buyers into lifelong Members. You will be the primary engine for outbound sales activity while simultaneously acting as a creative contributor to ideate Membership packages, commercial campaigns and cross-promotional merchandise incentives that drive club profitability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Proactive Outbound & Cross-Category Sales
- High-Volume Outreach: Lead and execute daily outbound call campaigns targeting past Members, ticket purchasers, merchandise buyers, and warm leads from the database.
- Lead Conversion: Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to closing the sale, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new Members.
- Cross-Selling & Upselling: Leverage retail and merchandise data to pitch tailored Membership packages to high-spending retail customers.
2. Product Ideation & Package Design (Membership & Retail)
- Market Research: Analyse competitor offerings and A-League trends to propose new, innovative Membership categories.
- Bundle & Merch Integration: Collaborate with the merchandise team to design "Bundle" packages ensuring the price-value relationship appeals to consumers.
- Price Modelling: Assist in the financial modelling of packages to ensure they are both competitive for fans and profitable for the club.
3. Marketing, Retail & Campaign Strategy
- Content Ideation: Collaborate with the Marketing, Creative, and Retail teams to develop the hook for seasonal campaigns, defining messaging that resonates with different fan segments.
- Digital Sales Funnels: Provide input on EDM and SMS copy, ensuring every communication has a clear call to action that drives sales.
4. Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Sales Targets: Meet and exceed weekly and monthly revenue KPIs across Membership and promotional consumer products.
- Campaign Analysis: Report on the return on investment for specific sales initiatives to inform future marketing spend.
5. Ticketing & Inventory Management
- Ticketing Product Strategy: Translate Membership packages into technical ticket types within the system, ensuring seat categories match consumer expectations.
- Pre-Sale & Group Booking Coordination: Manage the end-to-end ticketing process for large group bookings (e.g., local clubs or schools).
- Inventory Maximisation: Monitor real-time seating availability to pivot sales strategies, focusing outbound efforts on specific bays or categories that have high vacancy rates.
6. Shared Customer Service & Match Day Operations
- Shared Service & Support: Provide critical support to the Customer Service Coordinator during peak renewal periods, assisting with inbound service queues, phone lines, and general fan enquiries.
- Match Day Lead Gen & Activation: Work all home game days and major club events as a compulsory requirement. Coordinate data-capture initiatives and on-site sales to build the pipeline for future seasons.
- Consumer Team Support: Undertake other duties within the wider Consumer Business Team as directed by management to support retail and operational peaks.
