The position
The role of Lifeguard at the Loreto Toorak Barry Centre is to provide aquatic supervision of all patrons in and around the Barry Centre Aquatic facilities ensuring safe and effective enjoyment for all, identifying and responding to potential risks around the water. Casual hours are available for immediate start. Rate of pay is $46 per hour.
Shifts Available:
- Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons 3:20pm to 5:30pm
- Saturdays 8:30am to 10:30am
- Additional shifts may be available to support curriculum swimming events
Responsibilities of the role include;
- Ensuring safe and effective enjoyment of the Barry Centre by the whole school community, by proactively supervising the Aquatics area performing Lifeguard and first aid duties as required
- Oversight and management of any potential risks associated with the activities
- Managing visitor traffic and behaviour in the centre to ensure it is a safe environment for all
- Meeting the information needs of staff and families as needed
- Other responsibilities as outlined in the position description
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced Lifeguard with current Level 2 first aid and CPR qualifications and a pool lifeguard qualification. A current WWC check (employee) is also essential. Excellent customer service coupled with an ability to work productively in a team environment, strong communication skills, commitment to and flexibility with shift times.
