Water Polo WA overview

Water Polo WA (WPWA) is a not-for-profit and the State Sporting Association for the sport of water polo in Western Australia and member of Water Polo Australia (WPA). Our purpose is to lead, grow & support water polo across WA, creating environments for our individuals and communities to thrive both in and out of the water.

Following our Whole of Sport review, the sport in WA is at a significant and exciting point in time to harness and grow its footprint across the State. As the momentum builds towards the Brisbane 2032, WPWA is setting itself to deliver on recommendations, develop positive environments and maintain the strong histroy of the sport in WA. 

Position Overview

Water Polo WA is seeking a Community Services Coordinator to provide support for Water Polo WA Clubs and Associations across Western Australia, through Club and member registration, governance, learning and compliance, database management as well as other club related matters. This role is a critical component in developing and supporting the relationships with our Members, whilst ensuring that our environments remain safe and compliant with our policies and safeguarding requirements

This role is ideal for an administrator and someone who enjoys relationship management, administration, stakeholder engagement and customer services. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical support to affiliated clubs & associations to strengthen governance, administration and operational capability
  • Act as a key point of contact for Clubs on day-to-day development and support matters
  • Assist clubs to access relevant resources, policies and procedures and their implementation
  • Membership & system support (RevSport), including annual membership rollover and troubleshooting support
  • Coordinate and support training opportunities for club administrators, committee members and volunteers
  • Support clubs to identify development needs and improvement priorities
  • Support the development and establishment of new water polo clubs
  • Maintain and coordinate access to club development resources, tools and information
  • Assist clubs to navigate available support programs and opportunities
  • Communication and relationship management
  • Management and administration of Club, contractor and staff child safeguarding compliance requirements
  • Work closely and collaboratively with WPWA staff to support aligned outcomes for Clubs
  • Support in delivery of Member related events such as AGM and Member Forum
  • Assist in Government and Water Polo Australia compliance matters, including census data

Required Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • Demonstrated experience in adminstration and member/community engagement
  • Experience with governance and compliance
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Commitment to providing safe and inclusive environments
  • High level of integrity
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently
  • Current WA Working with Children Check
  • C-Class Drivers Licence
  • Adhere to privacy and confidentiality procedures and other policies as set by Water Polo WA, including child safeguarding

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualification in administration (or similar)
  • Experience in database management and grant applications
  • Experience in water polo &/or not-for-profit organisations
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software

Working Environment

  • Permanent part time (0.4FTE - 15 hours per week)
  • Preferred set two days per week, however hours can be negotiated.
  • This position may require hours outside of normal business hours, including weekends and evenings on occasion
  • Attendance at pre-determined Water Polo WA events and activities is expected
  • Employees will be offered time in lieu in line with Water Polo WA policies
  • Flexible working arrangements apply

  • Drivers Licence
