The Role
As a member of the Associated Public Schools (APS) and Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria (AGSV), we are seeking an experienced coach to inspire our students to dream more and learn more. Reporting directly to the Head of Rowing, and working closely with the Head of Coaching & Performance, the Junior Rowing Lead & 1st Crew Junior Boys Coach will oversee the junior rowing teams with a high degree of quality and effectiveness.
The Junior Rowing Lead & 1st Crew Junior Boys Coach will assist the wider coaching program within junior boys Rowing; supporting the teams and specialist coaches while ensuring that CGS policies, guidelines and values are delivered within the sport.
There are casual and fixed term - Part Time opportunities available.
Key Duties
- Attend all training and fixture commitments, with the potential for pre-season and holiday training.
- Assist in the planning of the training and competition program in conjunction with the Head of Rowing & 1st VIII Boys Coach.
- Develop technical skill, fitness, teamwork and leadership capabilities for all students
- Assist with the development of camp training plans, supervision and regattas
- Provide performance feedback and analysis to students.
- Provide equitable opportunities to students to achieve their highest potential during the season and demonstrate their capacity and progress on merit
- Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills and Experience
- Ability to implement a structured program for students
- Rowing Coaching experience at Secondary School level or in Community Sport
- Experience coaching junior athletes
- Experience in administration duties and interpersonal communication with stakeholders including students and their parents and CGS staff and external vendors
- Level 1 First Aid and Anaphylaxis Certification or be prepared to obtain these
- Hold or willing to obtain an Employment Working with Children Check
