The Football Development Coordinator will work closely with the MFA Football Development Manager to oversee and support coach development and player development within football. Focused on both community and advanced player and coach pathways, the role will involve supporting the various initiatives and programs aimed at growing the game.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Player Development
Lead the delivery of our MFA player development community programs, inclusive of our ADP and GAP programs, providing pathways and opportunities for players of all levels. There may be opportunities to lead or assist with additional community programs such as sporting schools programs, holiday clinics and gala days
Assist the delivery of our MFA advanced programs, inclusive of our TDP. Work with highly qualified coaches in our advanced player development program that aims to bridge the gap between grassroots football and representative football
Develop resources to support the delivery of player development programs, e.g., design session plans and football activities through the SportSessionPlanner platform
Additional support: get involved with performance analysis for our TDP program, including putting together player development plans, plus use of Veo cameras
Assist with the management of coaching staff, including management of WhatsApp groups, distribution of resources etc.
Support the development of local competitions such as the MFA ‘SAP’ (MSAP) League and Macarthur Youth League (MYL), ensuring alignment with player development goals.
Coach Development
Assist with the execution of coach development initiatives aligned with the organisation’s Coach Development Plan, ensuring all coaches have access to high-quality mentoring, education, and support opportunities.
Provide support with the administration of FA coach accreditation courses, including the MiniRoos Certificate, Foundation of Football, and C Diploma courses
Help coordinate coach development meetings, functions, and events to enhance knowledge sharing and networking among coaches.
General Responsibilities
Work with the Football Development Manager, and the Community Coach Development Officer, to support football development initiatives and events
Ensure frequent, clear, and timely communication with members and stakeholders, promoting transparency and engagement.
Identify, track, and promote positive ‘good news’ stories from within the MFA community to celebrate successes and enhance visibility.
Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by the MFA Football Development Manager to support organisational objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications/ Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in sports management or similar (e.g., sports science)
Hold a Football Australia C Diploma qualification is highly desirable; must possess a Foundation of Football as a minimum.
Working with children check
Must hold a driver’s licence and have access to a car (e.g., for travel to programs)
Availability for evening work (e.g., 5pm-8pm) through the week is needed to support with key program delivery. We will work with relevant candidates on working hours in line with requirements/ commitments
