ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Collingwood Basketball Association (CBA) operates at the centre of Melbourne’s inner north, delivering accessible and inclusive basketball opportunities across Collingwood and surrounding communities.
The Association serves one of the most diverse basketball communities in Victoria. Based in the City of Yarra, our community reflects a wide range of backgrounds, identities and experiences including low socio-economic, LGBTQIA+, multicultural and First Nations communities.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Reporting to the Basketball & Competitions Manager, this role supports the delivery of competitions through strong administration, communication, and coordination.
It works closely with the Basketball & Competitions Manager to ensure competitions are accurately set up, well communicated, and delivered consistently across all venues.
The role is operational and focused on competition management and delivery focused.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
This is a hybrid role based at Collingwood Basketball Stadium. Staff are required to work a minimum of three days per week in the office, with the remaining time able to be worked remotely, subject to operational requirements.
Given the nature of the role, regular evening and weekend work is required. Office based days should align with key operational activity, team collaboration, and peak delivery periods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Competition administration
- Set up competitions, fixtures, and teams
- Maintain accurate data and records
- Manage registrations and system updates
Communication
- Provide clear and timely communication to teams and participants
- Respond to enquiries and resolve issues
- Support consistent messaging across competitions
Game day support
- Support delivery across venues
- Assist referees and supervisors
- Respond to issues in real time
Workforce support
- Assist with referee scheduling
- Support workforce coordination
- Ensure coverage across games
Compliance and support
- Assist with incident reporting and documentation
- Support review and adherence to policies and procedures

Essential
- Strong organisational skills

- Ability to manage multiple tasks
Desirable
- Experience in sport administration
- Experience with PlayHQ or similar digital management systems
- Understanding of basketball competitions
Working conditions
- Hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of three days per week in the office
