Full-time | Community Sport Leadership Role | Central Victoria

The Kyabram District League (KDL) is one of regional Victoria's proudest football and netball competitions, with a strong community footprint and a clear strategic vision for growth, sustainability, and operational excellence.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic Sport Operations Manager to lead the delivery of our football and netball competitions, support our clubs, and help drive the next phase of the KDL's evolution.

This is a hands-on, highly rewarding role for someone who thrives in community sport, enjoys working with volunteers, and wants to make a meaningful impact across multiple clubs, towns, and sporting communities.

About the Role

Reporting to the KDL Executive, the Sport Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administration and operational delivery of all KDL football and netball competitions. The role oversees fixturing, match day operations, tribunal processes, club support, umpire coordination, communications, and key league events including finals and presentation nights.

You will play a central role in implementing the KDL's Strategic Plan, including initiatives to strengthen competitions, support volunteers, develop junior pathways, enhance umpire development, and improve communication across the league.

This role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends during the season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer football and netball competitions, including fixtures, results, clearances, permits, and compliance.
  • Support clubs with operational guidance, systems, governance requirements, and volunteer processes.
  • Coordinate match day documentation, umpire appointments, tribunal processes, and weekly operations.
  • Drive all league communications including website content, social media, and club updates.
  • Manage league events such as finals, presentation nights, and season launches.
  • Support umpire recruitment, retention, and development initiatives across football and netball.
  • Build strong relationships with clubs, AFL Victoria, Netball Victoria, sponsors and community partners.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident working with volunteers and community sport stakeholders.
  • A strong communicator with excellent attention to detail.
  • Passionate about football, netball, and community sport.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of outcomes.
  • Previous experience in football and netball administration - preferred.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience using PlayHQ, Netball Connect, or similar systems - preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in sport operations, club administration, or community sport management - preferred.

Candidates must be permanent residents of Australia to be eligible for this position.
