Description

You care about basketball and you know how to make content. This role needs both.

NBL1 is the NBL's elite product for community basketball - developing the next generation of players and connecting the game to fans across the country.

This is a hands-on production role. You will shoot, edit, design and publish content across the competition's digital channels, attend games, and work as part of the NBL's Media and Content team.

About Us

The National Basketball League is regarded as one of the premier basketball leagues in the world, home to some of the world's best players, and truly a sports entertainment experience like no other. We're a league that's growing fast, thinking big and constantly raising the bar. If you're passionate about sport and want to be part of something that's genuinely on the rise, you'll find your place here.

The Role

You report to the Media and PR Manager and sit within the Media and Content team.

Day to day, you will be:

  • Producing video content - promos, highlight reels, player features and social clips
  • Designing static graphics that are on-brand, sharp and built for each platform
  • Contributing to social media channels with consistent posting cadence throughout the season
  • Keeping the website current with new and accurate written content via the CMS
  • Attending games and events to capture content first-hand - real-time, reactive and authentic
  • Maintaining digital asset libraries so content is organised and easy to find
  • Collaborating with state bodies to drive alignment across key initiatives

Who We're Looking For

You are proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro and produce polished content at pace. You write with clarity and adapt your voice across different platforms, and you understand what each audience needs and apply that consistently.

About You:

  • Can produce and turn around content quickly without losing quality
  • Have graphic design skills in Photoshop or equivalent
  • Understand content across major social platforms
  • Are comfortable with website CMS tools and digital asset management
  • Have a genuine passion for basketball and community

Experience in a sport or entertainment environment is a strong advantage. So is experience producing content during live events.

You care about the competition you are covering. You bring ideas when you have them. You take pride in doing the work well.

Must Have Values

These are not a poster on the wall. They are how we operate every day.

  • Always Think Big - Be courageous. Be open to new ideas. Learn and grow. No limits.
  • Be Accountable - Own it. Ask for help. The scoreboard matters.
  • Integrity is Key - Act ethically. Act honestly. Keep our word.
  • Show Respect - Show care. Listen and seek to understand. Value opinions.
  • We Are Fans Too - Have fun. Always consider the fan. Share the love of the game.
  • One Team - Communicate. Trust each other. Celebrate the wins. Build relationships.

  • A content role inside a national sports league
  • Varied work across video, design and social
