The role
We are currently seeking 4 x Part Time passionate and dedicated Creche Assistants to join our new North Sydney Olympic Pool (NSOP) team. The successful applicants will assist the Creche Team Leader in the daily tasks of running the creche whilst providing a safe, enjoyable, and engaging environment to all children. As a Creche Assistant, you will provide care and supervision to all children and assist with the daily programming of activities.
This role provides additional opportunities to participate in peripheral programs such as birthday parties and vacation care. This is an exciting and unique chance to be part of the core team that welcomes the North Sydney community back into the pool. You will be an original member of one of Sydney’s most iconic sites, making a difference and contributing to the establishment of NSOP as a friendly hub for the North Sydney community.
The person
Creche Assistants provide exceptional childminding services whilst sharing responsibility for the safe supervision and operation of the creche. This role will suit a person with demonstrated experience in childcare, with a focus on safety, and a commitment to Child-Safe Principles.
The ideal applicant will be passionate, people-focused, and reliable whilst possessing excellent communication skills, a good sense of humour and imagination. Creche Assistants will be in their element when creating and maintaining positive relationships and thrive when engaging in activities which support the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each child. A desire for continuous learning and a demonstrated ability to be flexible and work with others to achieve best practice outcomes will be highly regarded.

Essential Criteria
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Commitment to Child-Safe Principles
- Knowledge of and ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities for children.
- Demonstrated experience in providing quality care for children.
- Be able to satisfy the requirement of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 and Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulations 2013 and provide a current NSW Working with Children Clearance; and adhere to Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
Desirable Criteria
- Current Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting or equivalent.
- Child Protection Certificate, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
- Certificate III in Children’s Services or equivalent / equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience and knowledge of local government practices, regulations, and policies.
- Additional experience or qualifications in the leisure industry, such as certifications in business management, fitness, customer service or swimming, are advantageous.

- Hourly rate from: $31.04 to $40.15 per hour + 12% superannuation + transport allowance
- 4 x roles - Permanent Part Time 15 hours per week
- Shifts will be between Monday to Saturday from 8:30am to 1:30pm
- Weekend penalties apply
