The books are accurate, the deadlines are met and nothing gets left sitting.
This is a new part-time role sitting in the finance team of a professional sporting club. It exists because the Club needs a reliable, detail-oriented person to own the day-to-day transactional layer - accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll data entry, reconciliations and some general office admin.
It is not a glamorous brief. But if you are someone who finds satisfaction in a clean ledger and a closed month end, it is a good one.
You will work Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 2:30pm (25 to 30 hours per week), from the Club's offices in South Brisbane.
About Us
Since 1979, the Brisbane Bullets have been part of the fabric of this city. Brisbane's oldest professional sporting club and a proud member of the National Basketball League - we're not just a basketball club. We're a community, a culture, and a genuine passion for the sport and the people who love it.
The Role
You support the GM Finance by keeping the transactional layer running accurately and on time.
Day to day, you will be:
- Processing accounts payable - invoices matched, approved and filed correctly
- Managing accounts receivable - invoices raised and outstanding balances followed up
- Handling end to end payroll data each pay period and flagging anomalies before they become problems
- Completing daily bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies promptly
- Reconciling credit card transactions with appropriate documentation
- Assisting with month end close and preparing supporting schedules
- Answering incoming calls and handling general office administration
Who We're Looking For
You are methodical, reliable and you care about getting the details right.
You are the right fit if you:
- Have experience across AP, AR, payroll data entry and reconciliations
- Experience with Xero and Employment Hero will be well regarded
- Communicate clearly and handle confidential information with discretion
- Hold a current Blue Card (Working with Children Check, QLD)
- Can manage competing deadlines without things slipping
And the non-negotiables - you do not leave things sitting. When something does not reconcile, you find it. When a deadline is coming, you are already across it. You hold the standard because you are that kind of person.
Values in Practice
These are not aspirational. They are the minimum we expect from everyone at the Bullets.
- All In - You are committed to the team and the work. Not halfway.
- Respect - You treat everyone - colleagues, vendors, callers - with care and professionalism.
- Integrity - You do the right thing when no one is watching. In a finance role, that is not optional.
What's on Offer
- Part-time hours that work around school-day availability
- A stable, close-knit team in a unique sporting environment
- South Brisbane location, Monday to Friday
- Consistent, predictable hours with no evening or weekend work
If this sounds like the kind of role you do well - apply. Send through your CV and a brief note on what draws you to it.
