The role of Football Operations Coordinator is to:

  • assist in the Delivery of the VAFA Strategic Plan & the key actions relating to the pillar of Football & Umpiring.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture & adhering to values of the VAFA.
  • Manage relationships in a positive manner with all stakeholders.

Major Activities to be met:

  • Coordinate the Player Registrations, Transfer Process, Player Points and Permits process.
  • Coordinate the Tribunal, Video Reviews, Match Day Reports, Investigations and Fines process.
  • Update and assist in ensuring all Clubs comply with VAFA Rules, Policies, Code of Conduct requirements, AFL NCFPH requirements and Match Day Requirements, including the issuing of fines as appropriate.
  • Coordinate the Agenda and Minutes for Football Sub Committee meetings.
  • Coordinate operational requirements for Big V and Representative Football games and assist with team logistics and administration.
  • Assist with operational venue requirements for VAFA Finals Series matches as directed.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to Clubs regarding football enquiries and information.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Executive Manager Football & Projects as required.
  • Other Football Department duties as required.
  • Update the Rules of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA).
  • Update Match Day Requirements.
  • KPI's per Management Action Plan

Education/Skills Required:

  • Tertiary qualification in Sports Management, Sports Administration or relevant field.
  • Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience in working with volunteers.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • A preparedness to work outside of traditional business hours including weekends during the football season.

Desired:

  • Experience in the operation of a sporting organisation, in particular sports Tribunal and Investigation.

An understanding of the VAFA competition.
