General Manager, Product & Experience
The product vision, the fan experience, the brand, the digital ecosystem. One role. Yours to run.
The investment is in. The infrastructure is there. The WNBL now needs someone to take the product, the fan experience, the brand and the digital ecosystem and make them match the ambition of the league it is becoming.
This is a senior, hands-on role with broad scope. It suits someone who is comfortable owning outcomes across multiple functions and does not need the brief to be perfectly defined before they move.
About Us
The NBL Group, in partnership with the Wollemi Capital Group Syndicate, is redefining the future of women's basketball in Australia. The Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) is poised for an exciting transformation, with a new ownership structure, an elevated game, and a new level of excitement with the goal of being a global leader in women's sport.
The Role
You are accountable for the end-to-end fan experience, from how the league is packaged and presented, to how fans engage digitally and physically, with audience growth, engagement and attendance as your key priorities.
You are a senior, hands-on leader, driving off court product, fan experience and growth, marketing & brand and digital and data for the WNBL, translating insight into execution and ensuring the WNBL product is compelling, distinctive and growth-ready.
Role Responsibilities
- Drive the WNBL product vision and season architecture, including competition narrative, key moments, events and fan propositions as well as product enhancements that increase relevance, differentiation and fan connection
- Own the end-to-end fan experience, ensuring consistency across live games, digital platforms and marketing touchpoints and translate product strength into growth of reach, engagement, attendance and repeat behaviour
- Ensure fan-first thinking is embedded in product, scheduling, marketing and event decisions
- Use digital platforms to capture insight, test propositions and scale the product experience efficiently using fan insight to inform product decisions and report on performance
- Drive the marketing, brand and go to market strategy
Who We're Looking For
You are a senior product and audience leader with a track record of growing engagement at scale and the commercial grounding to connect product decisions to business outcomes.
You are the right fit if you:
- Have senior experience across product, audience growth or fan experience
- Have grown audiences and engagement at scale in sport or entertainment
- Can hold commercial and product thinking together without separating them
- Are comfortable working with data to inform decisions and track performance
- Have led cross-functional initiatives from concept through to delivery
And the non-negotiables - you have a bias to action and take ownership of outcomes, not just the strategy behind them. You can work across a board conversation and a working group in the same week. You have a genuine interest in women's sport and can speak to it with substance. You do not need everything mapped out before you start.
