AusCycling is the nation’s peak riding and cycling body, representing more than 5 million Australians who ride bikes. Formed in 2020 from 19 state, territory, and national bodies, AusCycling is responsible for programs, projects and initiatives that encompass BMX, Track, Mountain Bike, Road, Para and recreational.

We help school kids learn to ride, we stage more than 500 events each year, we nurture clubs and create pathways, and we are responsible for the training, welfare, and performance of Australia’s Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Tour athletes.

Team Purpose             

Our Clubs and Community Enhancement Pillar is responsible for building, supporting, and enhancing the capabilities of both the Club Network and associated community organisations. The team also drives high quality experiences for sport participants, administrators, coaches, and officials with the aim of creating a world-class, sustainable national sporting system.

 

Position Purpose       

The State Development Lead will support Queensland clubs in building capacity and capability, focusing on club development, workforce, and community engagement.

This role will strengthen volunteer workforces, support club growth, and drive increased participation through AusCycling program delivery.  The role will be critical in delivering elements of the AusCycling Play Well Strategy in Queensland.

 

Responsibilities         

The following responsibilities outline the core expectations of the role but are not an exhaustive list of all requirements.

Engagement

  • Lead the AusCycling Club Engagement Program.
  • Lead the development and delivery of Club Engagement webinars.
  • Act as the primary contact for clubs in Queensland for queries and support.

Club Health

  • Lead reporting on Club Health metrics and key capability indicators.

Club Development

  • Partner with selected clubs in Queensland to implement club development plans and/or implement key initiatives within an existing club strategy.
  • Lead the development of club tools and support clubs through their implementation.
  • Lead the development of a centralised club resource  for all club tools, guides and best practice documents to be available in one location.

Participation

  • Support the development of the AusBike Delivery Network through clubs, schools and other delivery partnerships.
  • Support clubs in launching new entry-level programs includingAusBike, Come and Try sessions, school holiday programs and junior cycling initiatives.
  • Lead participation initiatives at major cycling events in Queensland.
  • Report participation data in an accurate and timely fashion.

Other

  • Provide administrative support & other duties to the State Operations Manager – Queensland as required.
  • Safeguard the integrity of AusCycling through implementation of the highest standards and community expectations within the state or territory with regard to inclusion, the safety and wellbeing of children, and anti-doping.
  • Role model AusCycling trademark behaviours.
  • Adhere to, uphold, and promote the principles of AusCycling policies and operating procedures.
  • Child-related work is conducted in this role with interactions varying from online, physical or face-to-face such as program delivery in school or centre (club, private providers or partner) environments, event activations / expos.

  • Drivers Licence
