We’re on the lookout for a Sports Development Officer with a passion for tennis to lead the planning, delivery and growth of Y Leisure City’s tennis program. Play a leading role in delivering an amazing tennis experience for people of all ages and abilities.
About the Opportunity
This senior, hands-on Sports Development role combines on-court coaching with program development, pathway planning and participation growth. You’ll lead initiatives to strengthen tennis engagement, build junior pathways, and develop strong partnerships with schools, clubs and the community.
Some of the key duties include:
- Develop and deliver tennis programs for juniors, adults and community groups
- Design and implement initiatives to grow tennis engagement
- Deliver high-quality coaching sessions aligned with Tennis Australia frameworks and best practice
- Coordinate tournaments, competitions, clinics, school and holiday programs
- Support and mentor tennis coaches, including scheduling and quality assurance
- Monitor program performance, including development of participation reports
- Ensure all programs comply with child safety, WHS and organisational policies
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that includes some evening and weekend hours.

What you’ll bring
- Legal right to live and work in Australia.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check dated in the last 6 months (or willing to obtain).
- International Police check if you have lived outside Australia in the last 5 years.
- Relevant qualification in Sport Development, Sport Management, Coaching or a related field.
- Accreditation with Tennis Australia (or equivalent recognised coaching accreditation)
- Current First Aid and CPR (or ability to obtain if successful)
- Strong understanding of community sport participation and player pathway development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to engage with patrons of all ages, cultures and abilities.
- Availability to work some nights and weekends.
