Touch Football Australia (TFA) is the national governing body for Touch Football in Australia. TFA has a strategic alliance with the National Rugby League (NRL) and operates in alignment with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), working collaboratively with State and Territory partners to deliver the sport from grassroots to elite.

This role focuses on coordinating school programs including Sporting Schools, supporting participation pathways from schools to community competitions, and supporting affiliates to deliver sustainable programs and participation growth across Western Australia.

About the role

The Participation Coordinator - WA is responsible for attracting, delivering, transitioning, and retaining participants across school programs, community pathways, and affiliate networks, supporting TFA's "Grow Touch" strategic pillar and Western Australia’s participation growth targets.

Reporting to the WA State Manager this role coordinates school programs including Sporting Schools and school clinics, builds participation pathways from schools to community competitions, supports affiliate development, and delivers programs targeting youth, female, multicultural, and All Abilities participants in metro, regional and remote WA.

This role requires strong stakeholder management skills, program coordination capability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build productive relationships with schools, affiliates, volunteers, and community partners.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of Sporting School programs, WACE and overarching school strategies with an aim to facilitate school pathways to increase participants transitioning to community competitions.
  • Coordinate the delivery of Sporting Schools program including school bookings, coach assignments, and session delivery including administration and invoicing.
  • Deliver school clinics at primary and secondary schools across Western Australia.
  • Develop and implement participation pathways to transition and retain participants from schools to community competitions across key segments including youth, female, multicultural, and All Abilities.

  • Work with affiliates to deliver programs, provide program recommendations, and support scaling of successful initiatives.

Key Relationships

  • Reports directly to the WA State Manager
  • Works closely with the Sport Operations Coordinator to support affiliate program delivery
  • Works closely with WA affiliates and volunteer network
  • Collaborates with National Participation Programs Manager and Schools Engagement Coordinator for program alignment and delivery

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated success in the delivery of sporting programs, events, and competitions.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to supervise and manage volunteers.
  • Strong organisational skills with proven ability to prioritise tasks, achieve objectives, and deliver on targets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and autonomously with self-management.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
  • High-level computer literacy including Microsoft Office and online platforms.
  • Customer service excellence and desire to work in sports with understanding of Touch Football.
  • Flexibility to work outside business hours and weekends as required.
