About the role
Reporting to the Head of People & Capability, the newly created People & Capability Business Partner role is key in delivering best practice HR support across the employee lifecycle.
Working closely with leaders and our people, you will provide trusted advice and operational support across recruitment, performance management, employee relations, systems, compliance and wellbeing. You will contribute to the delivery of the People & Capability strategy, while also owning key operational and administrative day to day activities that ensure compliance and an exceptional employee experience.
This is a hands on role, well suited to someone who enjoys building strong relationships, navigating people matters with confidence and working as part of a small P&C team, with a high-performance lens.
Working across the breadth of the business, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Stakeholder Partnering
- Partner with leaders and support team members with practical HR advice aligned to policy, legislation and organisational values.
- Coach and support people leaders in managing performance, ER issues and operational requirements.
Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding
- Lead end to end recruitment and selection activities.
- Coordinate onboarding, induction, probation and compliance requirements to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Manage offboarding processes.
HR Administration & Systems
- Prepare contracts, letters and employment documentation through the HRIS.
- Create templates and manage employee related process within internal systems.
- Maintain accurate employee records and support HR reporting and metrics.
- Act as a joint HRIS administrator, ensuring data quality and system effectiveness
Employee Relations & Performance
- Provide first level advice on employee relations matters, policies and employment legislation.
- Support performance management processes, including underperformance and disciplinary matters.
- Support managers and employees through mid- year and annual review processes, including any system requirements.
- Work closely with the Head of P&C on complex or sensitive issues.
Policy, Compliance & Wellbeing
- Support the review and maintenance of HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with WHS, workers’ compensation and wellbeing initiatives.
- Promote compliance, risk awareness and a safe workplace culture.
Culture & Capability
- Support learning, development, engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
- Contribute to the delivery of the People & Capability strategy.
- Role model Netball Victoria’s values and foster an inclusive, respectful workplace.
What you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
- 4+ years’ experience in a generalist HR or business partnering role.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary HR practices, employment legislation and ER matters.
- Experience across end to end recruitment, performance management and HR systems.
- High level of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience using a HRIS and other HR platforms (Employment Hero & Culture Amp highly regarded).
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- An interest in sport and community impact.
- Previous experience working a professional sports environment will be highly advantageous.
