About the Role

We are seeking a driven Accounts Coordinator to join our Shared Service Finance Team. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll. The role will report to the Finance Manager and presents a great opportunity for someone who is organised, analytical, and eager to take the lead of the daily accounts function for a dedicated shared service portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare, process and reconcile fortnightly payroll, including allowances and statutory obligations.
  • Maintain payroll records, employee details, leave balances and timesheets in line with contracts and legislation.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts, ensuring data integrity across systems.
  • Manage credit cards and payments, including acquittals, reconciliations and policy compliance.
  • Administer invoicing, receipts, refunds and follow-up of overdue debtors.
  • Support month-end processes, including reconciliations, reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Assist with financial reporting requests and provide ad hoc finance support as required.

Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Proficient in using Xero or equivalent accounting system.
  • Highly self-motivated with an intrinsic desire to drive for excellence.
  • Has or is willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.

Due to the nature of the sporting industry, irregular hours, including weekend and after-hours work will be required from time to time.

Remuneration

Hockey Australia will offer an industry competitive salary dependent upon the successful applicant's skills and experience.
