The Sport Hub Support Officer provides ongoing, hands-on administrative assistance to clubs involved in our Community Sports Hub project. The role works under regular supervision, performing established tasks such as record keeping, responding to enquiries, supporting club documentation, and assisting with basic communications.
Community Sports Hubs are a collective of local sports clubs working together to strengthen operations, share resources and improve participation outcomes. By creating efficiencies in the delivery of local sport, we will specifically address the challenges that community clubs currently face to allow them to focus on growing sport participation.
Working with the Sport Hub Administrator and other GippSport colleagues, this role requires excellent communication skills along with organised and efficient administration to ensure the highest standard of service is provided to our community clubs participating in the Hub.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Hub Operations Coordination
- Provide administrative support to hub staff and participating clubs as directed.
- Maintain accurate records, and documentation using established templates.
- Assist with preparation of meeting agendas, minutes and other club documentation as required.
- Support member registration processes and data entry tasks with club administration software (TidyHQ, RevSport etc).
- Respond to general enquiries and refer complex matters to the Coordinator.
- Assist with communications tasks such as club social media, e-newsletters, event reminders and member updates.
2. Project and Process Management
- Contribute to allocated hub administration projects from planning through to delivery
- Support the development of streamlined templates, tools, reporting systems, and shared resources
3. Stakeholder and Club Support Leadership
- Act as a key contact point for hub-participating clubs, responding to enquiries and coordinating support in collaboration with the coordinator
- Build strong relationships with club committees, volunteers and community partners
- Support clubs to adopt inclusive, safe and accessible administrative practices
- Represent GippSport at hub meetings in partnership with the Sport Hub Administrator
4. Reporting, Monitoring and Communications
- Contribute to the preparation of hub reports, and operational updates
- Maintain accurate records of hub activity, outputs, participation data and service delivery metrics
- Contribute to marketing, communications and social media content for hub initiatives
Other roles:
- Attend relevant networking events and meetings as may be required
- Maintaining current knowledge of policies, programs and professional practice in the sport & recreation sector.
