Full Time | Nunawading Basketball Centre
Nunawading Basketball is seeking a highly organised and proactive Competition Support Officer to support the delivery of our domestic competitions and officiating program.
This role plays a key part in ensuring referees and technical officials are appointed across competitions while supporting the administration of one of Australia’s largest basketball associations. You will work closely with the competitions team and Technical Officials Program Manager to ensure competitions run smoothly and officials are supported in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Referee & Technical Official Appointments
- Coordinate weekly referee and technical official appointments across domestic competitions, VJBL, Big V/NBL1 (as required) and events.
- Manage the rostering platform ensuring appointments are fair, accurate and conflict free.
- Communicate appointments and schedule changes to officials and staff.
- Monitor attendance, manage withdrawals and respond to emergencies.
Technical Officials Program Administration
- Maintain referee registration and compliance records including WWCC, BVTO licence status and accreditation levels.
- Support recruitment, training and development of referees, supervisors and venue captains.
- Assist with referee workshops, meetings and communication.
- Maintain program information across platforms such as RefBook and Stack TeamApp.
Competition & Venue Operations
- Coordinate weekly Competition Supervisor rosters across satellite venues.
- Maintain competition equipment and operational documentation.
- Provide operational reporting to management.
Tribunal & General Administration
- Assist with administration of Basketball Victoria tribunal reports and hearings.
- Support the competitions team with general administration and compliance tasks.
- Prepare reports and assist with stakeholder enquiries as required.

- Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities
- Confident computer skills (Excel, Word and digital platforms)
- Understanding of child safety and handling confidential information
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Availability to work evenings and weekends when competitions operate
Desirable
- Experience in sports administration or referee scheduling
- Knowledge of Basketball Victoria officiating structures
- Experience using platforms such as RefBook, Stack TeamApp or Monday.com
