Volleyball Queensland (VQ) is the peak body for volleyball in the state - supporting clubs, competitions and communities from grassroots through to high performance. Our clubs are the heart of our sport, and we’re looking for an Events Coordinator (Clubs) to help keep them thriving.
If you love volleyball, enjoy working with people, and want a role where no two days look the same, this could be the perfect fit.
About the role
The Events Coordinator (Clubs) plays a key role in supporting volleyball clubs across Queensland. You’ll be the go-to person for club queries, competitions, events and general support, helping clubs deliver great experiences for their members and volunteers.
You’ll work closely with the Events Lead (Clubs), Events team and a wide range of stakeholders including clubs, referees, venues and councils to ensure competitions and events run smoothly and that clubs feel supported, informed and connected.
This is a hands-on role with a strong mix of administration, coordination and on-the-ground event delivery.
Duties
- Acting as a key point of contact for clubs and affiliates across Queensland regarding competitions, leagues, tournaments and championships organised by VQ
- Supporting the delivery of competitions, leagues, tournaments and championships organised by VQ that our clubs and affiliates participate in
- Coordinating logistics associated with competitions, leagues, tournaments and championships organised by VQ including venues, referees, casual staff and contractors
- Assisting with registrations, communications and club enquiries relating to competitions, leagues, tournaments and championships organised by VQ
- Supporting pre-event planning, rostering and post-event debriefs
- Helping maintain systems, processes and event documentation
- Working weekends and travelling regionally as required for events
About you
You’re someone who:
- Enjoys working with clubs, volunteers and community stakeholders
- Has strong organisational and communication skills
- Is comfortable juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Brings a positive, “here to help” attitude
- Is reliable, proactive and enjoys being part of a team
- Has an interest in sport, events or community programs (volleyball experience is a bonus, not a must)
Experience in sport administration, event coordination or community roles will be highly regarded.
Why join Volleyball Queensland?
At VQ, you’ll be part of a small but passionate team who genuinely love what they do. You’ll get real exposure to the sporting industry, work closely with clubs and communities, and play a hands-on role in delivering volleyball across the state.
With VQ, you will enjoy:
- A fun, supportive and sport-focused workplace
- The chance to attend and be involved in major volleyball events
- Professional development opportunities
- A role where your work directly impacts people and communities
