Forbes Carlile was Australia’s first Olympic swimming coach, wife Ursula the only woman to be the head coach of the Australian Swimming Team. Both are in the International Swimming Hall of Fame. Carlile started Australia’s first commercial swim school, built the first indoor teaching pool for toddlers and pioneered teaching babies to swim.

The Opportunity
With support from the Carlile Support Office, you will build, lead and inspire a great team, a team that delivers exceptional experiences every day. You will deliver a world renowned program proven to help children learn to swim well and love the water.
The Role and You
- You will be the leader of your swim school, ultimately responsible for customer and team satisfaction, growth in bookings and the efficient delivery of an outstanding learn to swim program.
- You will be an inclusive leader of a team of full time, permanent part time and casual staff. You will build a culture where team members love coming to work, creating an environment where success becomes inevitable.
- In this hands on leadership role, you will oversee swim program delivery, support the development of swim teachers and manage daily operations to ensure an exceptional experience for students, staff and families.

Accountabilities
This role is ideal for someone who can foster a positive and fun environment for children, teachers and carers.
You will:
- Teach and supervise lessons.
- Work with the team to recruit new swim teachers and provide ongoing coaching, development and training.
- Manage staff and provide leadership through regular training and meetings.
- Help build and promote Carlile Swim by developing partnerships with local community groups.
- Oversee and lead a busy swim school through effective communication.
Specifically, you have:
- A demonstrated understanding of swim schools and their role in helping children be safer around water and develop a love of swimming.
- The ability to lead, coach and motivate a team.
- Strong managerial skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to quickly understand the Carlile Program.
- Sound knowledge of swimming industry practices, teaching and coaching principles.
- Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to liaise with students and parents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Requirements:
- First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR
- National Police or Criminal History Check
- Working with Children or Working with Vulnerable People Check
