Description

This is a volunteer role requiring flexible work during the 2026 Victorian football season (February to September 2026). The role would require availability for a few hours each Sunday depending on the competition schedule.

University work experience students encouraged to apply for their placement.

Reporting to the Academy Operations Manager, the Junior Academy Team Manager is responsible for ensuring the needs of the various academy teams are met including coordinating with coaches, players and staff on matchday to run successful home and away matchdays.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Team sheets on match day: print, complete and take record of team sheets.
  • Coordinating with referees on match days including payment of referee fees at home games.
  • Ensuring ground marshals and assistant referees (where no official assistants are available) are appointed from the parents and/or guardians belonging to the team.
  • Record matches using the club’s automated Veo video equipment.
  • Assisting with record keeping as required by the coaches including substitutions, goals scored, and other important data.
  • Ensure all rooms and areas used by our teams are left in a neat and tidy manner after use.
  • Assist with set up and pack down, and with any kit and equipment needs as required.
  • Be a champion in promoting the values of the organization and driving a positive and engaging culture into the community
  • Ensure that all activities are performed in accordance with the governance and compliance requirements of WUFC.

  • Ability to undertake the manual aspects of the role
  • Flexibility to work early mornings and late afternoons
  • Strong administration capabilities in managing inventory and clerical requirements

  • Has a good knowledge of the game of Football at a local level
