Westfields Sports High School is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Rugby League Coach to contribute to the continued success of our Talented Sports Program.

This role presents an outstanding opportunity to work within a high-performance sports school environment, supporting the development of both boys’ and girls’ Rugby League programs. The successful applicant will play a key role in fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, and student-athlete development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction across the school’s boys’ and girls’ Rugby League programs.
  • Deliver high-quality training sessions aligned to program philosophy and technical frameworks.
  • Develop positional attributes and core rugby league skills across multiple year groups.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to ensure alignment in systems, methodology, and performance standards.
  • Attend and contribute to training sessions, matches, team meetings, and staff meetings.
  • Assist with video analysis, performance review processes, and individual player development.
  • Uphold school behavioural expectations and contribute positively to student wellbeing and culture.

Required Availability

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays: 8:00am – 3:10pm
  • Tuesdays: 8:00am – 12:00pm
  • Fridays: 8:00am – 1:30pm

Availability for game days, parent–teacher evenings, and school events is desirable.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Coaching Accreditation
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Senior Club / Youth Development (Level 2) or High Performance (Level 3) Rugby League Coaching Accreditation.

Desirable Criteria

  • Current Provide/Perform CPR
  • LR or MR Driver's Licence
  • Experience within elite development pathways, academies, or representative programs.
  • Strong knowledge of rugby league positional play and skill acquisition.
  • Understanding of applied sport science principles, including strength and conditioning.
  • Experience using video analysis software.
  • Teaching qualifications (desirable but not essential).
