NSW Athletics is experiencing a period of strong growth and renewed momentum, driven by the success of the NSW Athletics Partnership. Through closer collaboration between Athletics NSW and Little Athletics NSW, the sport has delivered a more connected and contemporary athletics experience across the state, including aligned competition pathways, streamlined systems, and expanded opportunities for participants of all ages and abilities.

We are now seeking a highly organised and motivated Sport Coordinator - Operations to join the Sport Delivery team and support the planning, coordination, and delivery of competitions and events across New South Wales.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring events are delivered safely, efficiently, and consistently, and is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on event delivery in a fast-paced sporting environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Sport Operations Manager, the Sport Coordinator - Operations supports the end-to-end delivery of NSW Athletics competitions and events. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Supporting event planning, logistics, and on-the-day operations
  • Coordinating equipment, signage, and contractor requirements
  • Assisting with entries, systems, and event administration
  • Providing high-quality customer service to athletes, officials, clubs, and stakeholders
  • Supporting compliance with risk management, integrity, and safeguarding requirements

The role works closely with Sport Delivery colleagues and other Functional Areas and requires flexibility to support peak event periods, including weekends.

About You

You are a highly organised, detail-oriented professional with a genuine interest in sport and events. You will ideally bring:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • A customer-focused mindset and confidence dealing with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
  • Sound IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Experience supporting sporting events, qualifications in sport or event management, knowledge of athletics are desirable but not essential.
