Established in 1986, Ringwood Diving Club (RDC) is one of the largest diving clubs in Australia, with over 300 members and more than 200 active divers.
RDC is grassroots, inclusive club catering for divers of all ages and ability levels. The club has a proud history of producing Olympians and Commonwealth Games athletes and continues to develop world-class international competitors alongside state and national level divers.

Position Purpose
The Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing the coaching and operational functions of Ringwood Diving Club. The role ensures the delivery of a high-quality, structured diving program while maintaining strong relationships with athletes, families, staff and stakeholders.
The Head Coach oversees the club’s administration and operations with the support of a dedicated Administrator and reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Key Accountabilities
Relationships
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to optimise relationships with athletes, families, staff, partners and stakeholders
- Ensure the needs of all stakeholders are met to a high professional standard
- Maintain strong communication across all levels of the club
Innovation
- Lead the ongoing development of the diving program
- Present strategic proposals to the Board of Directors
- Implement Board-approved innovation strategies within agreed timeframes
Governance and Finance
- Oversee club purchases within approved budgets
- Participate in employment and human resources operations
- Prepare reports for the Board of Directors and attend Board meetings
- Ensure compliance across all areas of service delivery
- Develop strategies to grow the club’s financial and operational resources
Staff Management
- Manage all RDC staff including rosters and leave coverage
- Approve staff timesheets
- Issue employment agreements
- Conduct performance management and annual reviews
- Manage disciplinary processes when required
Coach Development
- Implement a structured staff training and development program
- Support new coach development in collaboration with the Coaching Director
- Deliver targeted training sessions to address development needs
Accountability
- Ensure all coaches perform their roles within scope and to required standards
Coaching Responsibilities
- Evaluate diver performance and identify development areas
- Design, implement and review training programs
- Maintain accurate training and performance records
- Coordinate athlete participation at appropriate competitions
- Deliver clear, structured and motivating coaching sessions
- Promote teamwork, confidence, sportsmanship and self-belief
- Ensure high standards of health, safety and safeguarding
- Act as a role model and uphold ethical and professional conduct
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
KPIs will be agreed within one month of contract commencement and reviewed regularly as part of the performance management process.
