The Opportunity:

The Consumer Growth Executive plays a key role in driving fan acquisition, engagement and retention across the A-Leagues and our Clubs. Working closely with the Head of Marketing, Digital & Data and a wide range of league and club stakeholders, this role supports the planning and delivery of consumer growth initiatives that convert interest into tangible outcomes including attendance, viewership, membership and participation.

With a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and execution, the Consumer Growth Executive helps deliver club-led and league-wide growth initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of the sports fan journey, hands-on experience delivering ticketing and membership campaigns, and a collaborative mindset to support clubs in achieving their consumer growth objectives.

The Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the league’s consumer growth strategy, contributing to audience acquisition, engagement and retention outcomes across the A-Leagues and Clubs
  • Support the planning and delivery of APL Finals Series ticketing initiatives, including campaign execution, optimisation and performance reporting to drive attendance and revenue outcomes
  • Develop and execute APL regular season and Finals ticketing policies and documentation
  • Work closely with clubs and APL digital, data and content agencies to support local fan growth initiatives, sharing best practice, insights and campaign learnings
  • Support consumer-focused campaigns across owned and paid channels including CRM, email, digital and social platforms
  • Support the development and execution of lifecycle marketing initiatives across awareness, consideration, conversion and loyalty stages
  • Assist in the use of fan data, research and insights to identify growth opportunities and inform campaign planning
  • Lead monthly sessions with Club consumer teams to align priorities and accelerate growth
  • Track and report on campaign performance, attendance and engagement metrics, providing insights and recommendations for optimisation
  • Collaborate with internal teams across marketing, digital, communications, commercial, broadcast and events to ensure integrated delivery
  • Stay across industry trends, fan engagement innovations and emerging best practice in consumer growth and sports marketing
  • Review, update and monitor club adherence to league consumer and marketing regulations and policies
  • Plan and manage regular functional meetings with clubs, collectively and individually
  • Plan and support the delivery of match-day and non-match-day fan engagement and community initiatives that drive generational support of clubs

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing or a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a relevant role (experience within sport preferred)
  • Self-reliant and self-starting, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong writing, presentation and attention-to-detail skills
  • Strong planning, organisational and time-management skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively
  • Self-reliant, solutions-focused and driven by results and data
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong presentation skills
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships and manage diverse stakeholders
  • Effective negotiator with sound commercial judgement
  • Strong understanding of the sports business landscape
  • Innovative and creative thinker with excellent problem-solving ability
  • Influential leader able to engage and align peers, agencies and cross-functional teams
  • Energetic, adaptable, collaborative and proactive in approach
  • Passion for, and knowledge of, football is desirable
